 PAC Chair’s Report – no report

 Principal’s Report– see attached

5. School Plan
 see attached draft plan
 focus continues to be on literacy development (writing emphasis)
 looking at those vulnerable and how to best support and at assessment for learning and how it informs instruction
 Pac endorses draft plan; will be meeting with SPC soon for discussion and approval
6. Sports Day
 staff to arrange for and organize student volunteers through the secondary school
 PAC (Stephanie) will organize food and food sales

7. Playground Update – Nancy & Veronica
 discussion of plans and potential equipment to be added. Approval confirmed for up to $20 000.00 to be spent on primary playground improvement and additions
 Huge thanks to Veronica and Nancy for their efforts.
 final plans to be made after this feedback and information from Murray and Shirley
 stay tuned!

 some parents find childcare arrangements difficult and expensive on the school closure days
 some parents find that school closure days give them enough time to ‘go home’ to visit

3. Notice of Late Return– if you are going to return to UHill in the fall but not on Sept. 6th you must fill out a Notice of Late Return– see office. Spots cannot be held past Sept. 30
4. “School Plan Events”
 collaboration time/ Grade Group Meetings (grade 1,3,5)
 consideration of Data trends and direction setting for next year
 data trends and proposed directions reviewed as attached
 ‘draft’ plan completed; will go to SAC tomorrow
 SPC meeting to be held after May 2nd
 focus for 11/12 continues to be on writing and on struggling learners
