Nature Workshop

On Tuesday, September 26th from 6 to 8pm, the school will be hosting a fun workshop for teachers AND parents who are interested in using natural elements to enhance the learning of our children.  Please see the flyer and this link for details.  Also, note that there is a cost of $20 to take the workshop.  Hope to see you there!

What is RBC Sports Day in Canada?

RBC Sports Day in Canada, presented by ParticipACTION, CBC and True Sport, will take place on Saturday, November 21 in communities from coast to coast to coast. This national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high-performance, is an opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate the power of sport to build community and get Canadians moving!

National Jersey Day – Friday, November 20

Friday, November 20 is a national day to show your love and support for sport by wearing a jersey, team or club uniform to school, work or play. From municipal council chambers to office buildings and classrooms across the nation, we envision a sea of Canadians wearing their hearts on their sleeves on National Jersey Day.

PAC Parent Workshop: Introduction to Social and Emotional Learning – May 7th 5-7pm UHill Library

The University Hill Elementary PAC is hosting the following Parent Workshop:

“Teaching the hearts and minds of children: Introduction to Social and Emotional Learning”

on Thursday, May 7th, from 5-7 pm in the school Library.

Join us for this event facilitated by Angela Low, graduate student at UBC and parent education consultant and workshop facilitator in Vancouver.

The workshop is designed to help you to answer the question: How can we prepare our children for success?

Topics covered include:

  • Social and Emotional Learning.
  • Identification of essential “life skills” for success.
  • Supporting the development of social and emotional skills at home.
