In the Know presentation for parents

Hi parents,

Please see the email below from Liz Irving for your information/interest.

Thank you!

Hello PAC members,

I am extending an invitation for two upcoming “In the Know” webinar sessions the F.O.R.C.E. Society for Kid’s Mental Health is hosting.  Parents can attend these informal sessions and watch a webinar – which is a guest speaker sharing information about a certain mental health topic – and then there is time to discuss the webinar afterwards.

This month there are two different subjects at two different locations.  Please share this information to your parents groups for either or both sessions.

DATE: Tuesday, November 15, 2016 from 6:30 – 8PM

LOCATION: South Vancouver Youth Centre at 4920 Fraser St.(@ 33rd)

WEBINAR TOPIC:  Say/Don’t Say: What youth with mental health challenges really want from their parents and caring adults.  The special speaker is Andrea Vukobrat who is the FORCE Society Youth in Residence at the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre at Children’s Hospital.  Andrea shares some invaluable lessons that she has learned from her own lived experience.

DATE: Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 6:30 – 8PM

LOCATION: West End Community Centre at 870 Denman Street – Meeting Room #1 upstairs

WEBINAR TOPIC:  Worries and Woes: Identifying and Preventing Anxiety in Children. The speaker is Dr. Lynn Miller and she will help parents be more aware of the anxiety disorder spectrum as well as techniques that are useful to implement with an anxious child as well as so much more.

PLEASE NOTE:  This is an ADULT ONLY event at both locations

If any parent would like to attend please have them RSVP to my email,

Warm regards,
