We’re currently looking for kids in Grade 5-7 to volunteer to take part in
a practice run for GIRLsmarts. GIRLsmarts is a Computer Science workshop
for Grade 6 girls with the goal of encouraging young women to become
interested in computers, mathematics and science. For the practice run, any
kids (boys and girls) in Grade 5-7 are invited to attend. Kids who
participate will have the opportunity to try out some fun CS-related
activities in HCI, programming, HTML and/or robotics for free while giving
us valuable feedback for our upcoming workshops!

The practice runs will take place on…
– Thursday, January 17th from 4-5:30pm
– Thursday, January 17th from 4:30-6pm
– Saturday, January 19th from 2-3:30pm

If your kid(s) are able to attend, please RSVP to with
their name(s), grade(s) and the date(s) they can attend. There may be some
flexibility with time on Saturday afternoon, so let us know if those times
don’t work but another time that Saturday afternoon does. Your kids’
friends and other kids you know are welcome to attend! Please feel free to
pass on this invitation. Any questions can be directed to

Thank you and Happy New Year!
